Blue Needle Lemurians

Soul of Lemuria is excited to be able to offer you a rare new find!  Blue Needle quartz is not necessarily rare per se, but Blue Needle Lemurians are! What we are referring to as "blue needles" are the blue needle like lines that appear when light is directed at the quartz.  What you are seeing actually are not "needles" at all.  They are very thin lines of trapped gasses.

Due to the Tyndall Effect these thin lines appear blue. The Tyndall effect is light scattering by particles in a colloid or in a very fine suspension.  This is similar to Rayleigh scattering.  The blue light that you see is blue light wavelength that is scattered much more strongly than red.  An example is the color blue that you can sometimes see in smoke that is emitted by motorcycles in which the engine oil provides the particles.
